step 2 : Now Launch Cydia.
step 3 : Choose the ” Manage ” tab at the bottom.
Step 4 : Choose the ” Sources ” option.
Step 5 : Tap the ” Edit ” button and then on the ” Add ” button

step 7 : Now Search for ” ultrasn0w 1.1-1 ” in Cydia.
step 8 : Install the Ultrasn0w 1.1-1 app to unlock iPhone 3GS 4.1 firmware.
Step 9 : Now Restart your iphone, you Will see your iphone 3GS is now Unlocked and now you can use any sim with your iphone.

Great and easy instructions to follow but once I finished the jailbreak and unlock, which went fine, my iPhone 3GS recognized the new SIM card and carrier for ONLY a couple SECONDS before SEARCHING and searching for the carrier and stating “unable to load network list” and never recognizing the carrier. Any remedies for this?

I think u have the latest firmware IOS4 05.14.02! ultrasnow cannot unlock it yet… will have to wait till the end of november to unlock! keep in touch!
I was able to Jailbreak
but after that the phone was not able to get unlocked with the help of cydia
IT IS STILL UNABLE TO SEARCH ANY NETWORK
