By default in Windows Vista and Windows 7, you need to double click to open any file or folder. But if you would like to open a file or folder quickly, you can enable single click to open an item option.
How to open files and folders with a single-click in Windows Xp and Windows 7:
- Go to My Computer –> Press Alt in the Keyboard and you will see the File and Edit menu. Select Folder Options from the Tools menu.
- Under the General tab, change the Click items as follows from Double-click to open an itemto open an item (point to select).
- Click Apply button to save the change.
- You are done.

That’s a nice trick. Although I’m still prefer to have 2-clicks instead of one, I know this can be a handy tip for those who prefer it. I applaud your effort in sharing this. Good job.
