How to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3G & iPod Touch 2G with Redsn0w 0.9.6B1

Recently we have seen iphone Dev team has released the new version of its popular windows based jailbreaking tool Redsn0w 0.9.6B1 to jailbreak ios 4.1 on iphone 3G and ipod Touch 2G.

If you don’t care about unlock you can proceed with iPhone 3G or iPod touch 2G 4.1 iOS jailbreak. The Redsn0w 0.9.6b1 is not good for jailbreak iPod Touch 2G MC users because it is a tethered jailbreak for iOS 4.1.

How to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3G &iPod Touch 2G:

step 1 : Download iOS 4.1 for iPhone 3G & iPod Touch 2G

step 2 : Download latest version of iTunes 10

step 3 : Now Download Redsn0w 0.9.6B1

step 4 : Now Manually update your iPhone 3G or iPod Touch 2G to iOS 4.1

step 5 : Run redsn0w 0.9.6 and click on ‘Browser’. Now, select iOS 4.1 or iOS 4.0 firmware and click on ’Next’.

step 6 : Then select “Install Cydia” and again click Next.

step 7 :Just turn off your iPhone 3G and connect to computer and click Next button of Redsn0w 0.9.6b1.

step 8 : Put your iPhone in DFU mode, hold “Power” button and “Home” button for about 10 seconds.

step 9 : After few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button upto 30 seconds until installation begins.

step 10 : Just wait until Redsn0w completes the rest of the process.

After completion your iPhone 3G will restart automatically and you will find it jailbroken with iOS 4.1.
