7 out of 10 apps are for iOS, iPhone & iPad developers to earn four times more revenue

The developer research data as compiled by Flurry Analytics for the months January thru March, depict that 7 of 10 apps developed are on iOS. Likewise, for every dollar earned by an iOS developer, Android developers make far less to the tune of $0.24. However, this data is not all that surprising as it sounds to be. If one goes through the average tablet sales, iPads fare very well as compared to its competitors. Flurry’s advertising network gets 88% pings from iPad users, as compared to a mere 9% Galaxy Tab users.

Flurry Analytics has defended the demand for Apple’s iPad and iPhone stating that the build is the most compelling value proposition in today’s market scenario, with an ability to run anywhere. According to Flurry, the major problem with Android lies in its piracy. On the other hand, Apple has made sure that their developers get paid of what is rightly deserved by them. Call it Apple’s crystal prison or by any such name, but the fact remains that it is nearly impossible for the copycat so-called tech savvy’s to replicate Apple apps, in comparison to the ones developed by Android. In this context, Apple has always given due respect to their developers by ensuring that they are duly profited out of the apps developed by them. Likewise, Apple has also ensured that it has made a viable business out of it. Also, presuming that the developers of an Blackberry and webOS till date make more money than Android developers, one should take time to ponder as regards the health quotient of Google Play store in the long run.

So for all those developers writing apps for Android, is it time to switch gears, or is it time to set yourselves a wake-up call?
