Verizon Executive Potentially Hints at iPhone 5 Launch in Fourth Quarter 2012
Amidst all the anticipations and expectations further embroiling the iPhone 5 rumors, comes another sensational comment. This time it is from the Verizon Chief Financial Officer Fran Shammo who has hinted at Verizon’s earnings release conference, that it would be in the fourth quarter of this year in which the next-generation iPhone will be launched. In other words, as per Verizon’s Fran Shammo iPhone 5 would have a postponed launch, otherwise than what most of us has expect.
The Verge has captured Shammo’s exact thought on the iPhone, depicting that people have held back on the idea of upgrading their devices in the second quarter due to the anticipation created by the Apple rumor mills of the next gen iPhone 5 launching very soon this fall. Shammo’s comment on the iPhone 5 could come as a little disappointment to all the iPhone 5 hopefuls who still have their fingers crossed for an early arrival or launch of iPhone 5 from Apple. However, Shammo’s comments depict iPhone 5 being launched in the latter half of 2012. In fact, last year Shammo had commented on Apple’s iPhone plans of presenting an world-mode iPhone capable of operating on both GSM and CDMA networks. Verizon had stated that the iPhone 4S launch would be simultaneous with the AT&T launch, however the chosen launch came a little later somewhere midway through its lifecycle.
Shammo’s statement has no support of any insider information, thus cannot be relied upon as nothing but the golden truth. As depicted earlier, Shammo had faltered to a certain extent in tracing the iPhone 4S launch last year. Which is why, in my opinion, the iPhone 5 fans can hold their breath and behold to await the most prestigious offering from Apple and in the world of smartphones.
