if cydia and safari doesnt open up in your ipod 4 restore it with the ios 5 ipsw firmware from here: .then download redsn0w 0.9.9b4 from this website:http://jailbreaktools.com/.extract the file and open it.Click on the jailbreak button and follow the instructions to put your ipod into DFU mode.So switch off your ipod.Then hold down the power button for 3 seconds,then without releasing the power button hold down the home+power button for 10 seconds after you hold down the home+power button for 10 seconds .Release the power button but keep holding down the home button for 18 seconds then your ipod should be in DFU mode and your ipod should be jailbreaking.After your ipod have completed jailbreaking the cydia icon should appear as a blank icon so put your ipod into DFU mode again and open up redsn0w again and click on extras then click on just boot.NOTE:this jailbreak is a tethered jailbreak that means everytime your idevice shuts down you should connect it to your computer,open up redsn0w and boot your device.hope that helps you out.
