Target, Best Buy Cut iPhone 4S Prices Ahead of iPhone 5 (For only $179.99)

iPhone’s expectations seems to have given several retailers new ideas to tackle with anticipated outcomes pertaining to the iPhone. As such, even retailers such as best Buy and Target have started strategizing on selling of the current models of iPhones. More so, it would in fact be optimal to name the term ‘strategizing’ as ‘disposing’ of the iPhones. For only $179.99 with contract, Target have now started offering 16GB versions of the AT&T and Verizon iPhone 4S. This news comes from AllThingsD which also states Best Buy to have cut its iPhone prices by now selling it for just $49.99 for its 8GB iPhone 4 on both carriers. Earlier this month, Sprint had cut the price of iPhone 4S by $50. Today, if you purchase the 16GB iPhone 4S through Sprint, it would cost you $149.99 with a two-year contract while the 32GB as well as 64GB model would cost $249.99 and $349.99 respectively.

In fact, since last week Apple has started collecting information on how the retailers and carriers are discounting their iPhones which are currently floating in the market. However, this activity from Apple is on silent mode, very much unannounced just like many of its strategies. But if you happen to walk into one of Apple’s retail store and even mention the retailer deals, Cupertino might discount the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 models in the same range.

As earlier suggested by most of the tech analysts, and as covered by us in our blog, it might be wise enough to dispose off your current iPhone for a discount anticipating the very near launch of the next gen iPhone 5 coming up. Many those who anticipate that September 12, 2012 might be the day where iPhone 5 would be launched, then it would not be too far away where one might see the current iPhone model prices being slashed even further.
