If not then what can happen is, after you like that page and get subscribed to it, the owner can change the details of the page turning it into some anti social page like pornography, anti country, terrorism etc. and it would show you as a member of it. Not just that, all the updated would show in your profile as well. This can lead to severe consequences. Hence always ensure that the page you are going to like is trusted as it affects your own credibility also.
