New iPhone 5 prototypes have NFC chips and antenna
The rumor mills pertaining to the new gen iPhone, supposedly the iPhone 5, have yet again begun to wag its tail. This time it pertains to the possibility of the new iPhone having an NFC tie-in. As per the sources, the new iPhone will have NFC chips, which will duly honor its NFC tie-in so as to compete with a Google Wallet or any other service which Microsoft brings on the table with it. It is presumed that Apple’s tie-up with Citibank’s PayPass is a near possibility so as to avail its users an optimal system for credit card transactions. Likewise, it could transform itself into the arena of payment processing, rendering support to millions of credit cards at iTunes. An tie-up with NFC could help iPhone users to share and transmit information or files from one iOS device to another. Apart from this added technology, the new iPhone will have a bigger display of 1136 by 640, with its Near Field Communication controllers directly connected to the Power Management Unit.
Jim Peters, CTO of SITA, agrees that the iPhone users and the retailers should prepare themselves for the welcoming of the NFC. In fact, the inclusion of NFC in the next iPhone, according to Jim, is going to stir up an NFC fever in the mobile market, which would necessitate most of the smartphones to have NFC. With NFC, Apple is going to make it real easy for its users to share information from one device to the other. Incorporation of NFC by Apple into Passbook will be an optimal move.
The rumor of NFC to be incorporated in the next gen iPhones is fast blossoming and becoming a nearer fact, as the days proceed closer to the next gen iPhone launch. What more! one well connected developer from Apple has in fact rendered solidarity to the rumor bandwagon pertaining to the Apple-NFC supposed association.
