iOS 6: Introducing new features
iOS (previously iPhone OS) is a mobile operating system developed and distributed by Apple Inc.iOS 6 was announced on June 11, 2012, at Apple’s 2012 keynote event.
The newly introduced features in iOS6 are:
Maps:
These newly designed maps in the latest version on iOS come with highly detailed graphics and text. The elements have a smooth panning when you zoom into your map.
Tilt your phone to view a particular area and be sure that the streets and places are intact. The sync between them is impeccable that is. Also Siri gives you company incase you want to know, where the next Gas station is? Along with the navigations and real-time traffic updates. You can look through the city from different angles from the air as if you were flying, all these in a good resolution.
Facebook Integration:
iOS 6 platform integrates the Facebook functionality like twitter to the Notifications Center. This means you can now post your Facebook updates with a single swipe. Siri doesn’t fall far behind this update either. Voice your Facebook update and Siri will gladly update it for you. You can also share all your apps on your Facebook. Your Facebook events are synced with your calendar, as well as the contacts and email addresses.
Phone Calls:
Bothered by unending customer service calls, the new Do Not Disturb feature keeps them such calls at bay, the feature disables all sort of alerts like flash or sound. You can add and make a list of contacts you want this to apply to. But if the caller calls back with the next 3 minutes, they can get through the DND; this was done considering emergency situations. You can also bookmark pages for reading in an offline mode – Device Syncing.
Wallet:
Collect all your movie tickets, store cards in one place. Yeah, it has this feature too. Everything is so updated, enter a theater the ticket pops up, and want to check your store credit, its right here. All in one place no more cards for you to take care of.
Parental Supervision:
There are some levels of security which gives parents some kind of relief. You can allow your kids to access just enough apps appropriate for them. Turn the rest of them off. The best part about this, well another best part to say, iOS 6 will also feature Lost Mode, allowing you to send a phone number to your misplaced iPhone. Anyone who finds it can just tap the phone number on the screen to immediately call you.
With amazing features enlisted here, the anxiety is at peak for many people.
