After completing Windows updates on your vista you should see popup screen for reboot.If you want to disable use the following solution.

1. Press Windows Key + R (RUN)

2. Type “gpedit.msc” (without quotes) then press enter

3. Navigate to:
Local Computer Policy >> Computer Configuration >> Administrative Templates >> Windows Components >> Windows Update

4. Doubble Click on: No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations

5. Select Enabled and Press OK

6. Press File & Exit
