If you are twitter user then here is good news for you, now Twitter has launched its own URL shortener t.co ,The new service, currently being tested internally, will be available for all users later this summer.
Twitter will automatically shorten, or, as it says, “wrap” all links automatically, whether you are tweeting from the company’s website, or using a third-party client.

If you want to continue to use bit.ly or other third-party shorteners, they will be “wrapped” as well by t.co.
Shortened links will displayed differently depending on what client you are using, however. Using the website, or a desktop client means you will see the full link, or at least an excerpt. Those getting SMS notifications will only see the shortened link. Best of all, only the amount of characters in the shortened link go against your 140, despite the full link being shown to others.

Today twitter has introduce complete new Homepage, there is lot’s of improvement in home page as compared to old, twitter has done some really good changes in home page.
The new design includes a new “See who’s here” section, which presents well-known individuals, celebrities, businesses, and brands that are currently using Twitter; a scrolling stream of “Top tweets,” which automatically and constantly presents interesting tweets that are algorithmically selected. As far as trending topics go, the feature is now a small ribbon that moves from right to left presenting the stories that are trending at the moment.

The company’s blog post explains that this new design, like others before it, is focused on the new user experience:
With so much being shared, we know that there’s something of value for everyone. People who internalize the value of Twitter understand the power of this simple medium. But it hasn’t been easy to make that value transparent or obvious for curious folks coming to Twitter for the first time.
