App Store to soon get new Food and Drink category, relevant developers contacted
MacStories has revealed yet another Apple app feature that would be added to the iTunes App store. As noted by MacStories, iTunes will be seeing the new inclusion of Food and Drink category. However, this revelation by MacStories cannot be sidelined as just another rumor, like most other analyst notifications pertaining to Apple and its devices. This time, this new add-on feature in iTunes category has a back-up in form of Apple’s email to its developers.
Apple has sent email to select developers informing them as to the new Food and Drink category that would be added to iTunes. As such, this new category will comprise of an array of food related apps, however excluding dieting, shopping and food-related gaming from it. In doing so, the Food and Drink category seems to be warped up in a more serious dimension rendered to users. The Food and Drink category will include recipe apps, cooking apps, Restaurant and bar finding apps, along with baking apps to support the category. Apple has already kept its select developers informed pertaining to this addition, and expects to receive feedback from them. Also, developers have the option to either accept the proposal or reject it outright. The developers can make changes in ‘Manage your Applications’ content on iTunes Connect. Likewise, every developer is supposed to act in tandem with the iTunes Connect Developer Guide, in making any additions to this proposed new category in iTunes.
As to how the developers will react to the proposed new addition from Apple will be answered by the test of time. Most of the analyst are however affirmative on this new iTunes connect. It is suggested that Apple is certainly employing an user friendly approach in the process of pampering its users, although subtly!
