Filed under google by Mohan Desai on March 18, 2010 at 10:37 no comments Google Maps has been updated to 4.1. Users with Android 1.6 and higher devices can get the latest update,It comes with a couple of new useful features:

New features include:
- Updated search results page: The detailed search page got a major face life. New buttons have been added for map view, navigate, call, and street view. The reviews area has a slick looking colored chart to display star ratings and you can easily buzz about any place.
- Swipe for more results: The tabs are now gone from the search results page and users can easily swipe between places. The scrolling is super smooth on my N1 and it has a nice feel as results snap over.
- Latitude widget and Maps live wallpaper: I guess this is more eye candy than usefulness. The new Maps live wallpaper allows you to view live traffic on your homescreen. The Latitude widget shows updates for friends around your location.
- Switch Google Accounts: Android 2.0 added support for multiple accounts and now you can switch them from within maps. This allows you to easily manage multiple identities.
- Dark Map for Buzz: A new layer that darkens the map and makes buzz posts glow red.
- More Ads: I don’t know if this is a new “feature” or not, but I am noticing a ton of new sponsored ads through out Google Maps when I perform a search. I think this started around version 3.4, but they definitely have more advertisers signed up now.
Just search for Google Maps in the Android Market, to download the version 4.1.

Filed under google by Mohan Desai on March 5, 2010 at 11:15 no comments I know for a fact that Google Buzz and Google Wave are two different services. But we can’t discount the fact that their functions are almost similar. So let me ask you this question, since Google Buzz was released, are you still using Google Wave? If yes, then you’d be glad to know that Google has just activated email notification for Google Wave.

Google Wave’s notification works just like all the other Google notification systems – Buzz, Email Alerts for specific search results and others. It sends you email alerts whenever a wave that you are participating in gets an update or whenever a new Wave has been created by your Google Wave contacts.
Google has now brought this possibility one step closer with Wave email notifications. According to The Google Wave Blog, all Wave users should now see the “Notifications” option in their Inbox dropdown menu. Once selecting it, you will be presented with the following choices:

Google recommends the “Immediately” setting so that you never miss out on a wave. Google will only send you a single email between each time you actually visit the wave. Google does this to ensure that you aren’t spammed with an email for every single update that takes place.

Filed under google by Mohan Desai on February 19, 2010 at 23:11 2 comments Google Buzz was launched Week ago and now here is Search engine for Buzz, yes this is true Buzzy is a first Search Engine For Google Buzz but it is not from Google It was from some one else.
If you want to search Google Buzz for public messages you need to log into Gmail and use the search form at the top. There does not seem to be another official option to search public messages in Google’s new social messaging service. The public messages might eventually make it into the Google search engine but that is currently not the case.
Users without Gmail or Google Buzz are therefor not able to search for Buzz messages. That’s where the third party search engine Buzzzy might come in handy.

I think this plugin was the first one launched. It’s very simple; it adds the Google Buzz button and gives the user the option to customize a couple of options such as the rel attribute to be used for the link, the location of the button and its size.

2. WP Google-buzz:
This plugin is looking same as oogle Buzz Button but it has one extra feature which is that it enables the user to choose the icon to be used for the Google Buzz Button among preloaded icons. You can choose the one that matches your blog the most and which won’t break the design.

This Plugin provides the user with more options to customize their Google Buzz button. WP-Buzzer enables the user to choose the location of the button (before the post, after the post), it also gives the user the option to choose the target of the button whether to open the link in the same window or in a new window.
