Amidst string of analyst-based of iPad rumors, this news of a smaller iPad being on its way out around October 2012 is very much official. Bloomberg has reported that a new iPad having display between 7 and 8 inches will be announced in October. Although the Retina-resolution screen found on the third-generation 9.7-inch iPad will not be seen in this newer and smaller iPad, it will feature a 1024 x 768 display. However, this news was first reported by iMore, although Bloomberg confirms on it now. As per the reports, this all new smaller iPad will range between $199 and $249.
In fact, the rumors of this 7 inch iPad had been ever since the launch of the original iPad in 2010. So in that context, the arrival of this 7X8 inch iPad display can be termed as a much awaited one. As the entry level iPod touch also starts at $299 for 8GB, many consider the comparison of this newer small wonder with the other Apple devices is inevitable. Moreover, there also would be obvious comparisons made with the other Tablets in the market scenario. The competition would be stringent and certainly an exciting one for all the analysts and the techies.
Previously there were lot of rumors spin pertaining to this 7 inch iPad. But all the rumors, like most do, lacked solid evidence or substantial documentation to support analyst claims pertaining to the same. In fact, one of the sources had had tied manufacturing of this small wonder with some Chinese vendor, whose whereabouts never came to light. The rumors followed a quiet phase where there was no news of any smaller iPad seeing the light of the day. Now, after a span of several months an official news has erupted regarding 7 inch iPad coming to market in October, 2012.
