Header themes for Windows Live Wave 4 has been spotted by the people at LiveSide.net. The screenshots reveal a new look on the header themes for some of the Windows Live services, including Hotmail, live.com, and other sites.

There are a total of 16 new themes, including the Windows Live default blue header. Most of these themes are snippets from Windows 7 wallpapers including Characters, Scenes, Architecture, and Nature packages. The new Windows Live Wave 4 will also remove the “Options” menu from current services and simply add a “hover-over” pop-up window to change themes.

I Just received email from paypal and here is good news for Paypal  users in India: Paypal announced today that the company is going to resume its direct bank account transfer service to Indian banks from March 3, 2010. Paypal has got permissions from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to continue its operations.

Paypal’s executive Farhad Irani said on the official Paypal blog:

RBI has now allowed us to resume bank withdrawals for settlements for exports of goods and services. We are currently making changes to comply with Indian regulations for settlements for exports of goods and services, and we anticipate that as of Wednesday, March 3rd, we will be able to resume the bank withdrawal service.

On Monday, March 1st, we will be back in touch with specific instructions on how you can move your money into your bank account.

RBI has told us that PayPal needs specific approvals to allow personal inward remittances to India, which we currently do not have. Until we get these approvals, personal payments into India will remain suspended. However, if you are an exporter, you will continue to be able to use the PayPal service for payments of goods and services.

The Skype for Windows Mobile app has been pulled by the Luxembourg-based VoIP giant over concerns with its performance. This means, you cannot download the app from the Skype official site but if you already have it installed on your device it will seamlessly work.

According to Skype FAQs,

“We’ve chosen to withdraw Skype Lite and Skype for Windows phones because we want to offer our new customers an improved mobile experience – much like the version that has proved so popular on the iPhone, and which is now available on Symbian phones. Our focus is on providing a rich user experience that allows you to enjoy free Skype-to-Skype and low cost calls as easily on the move as you do at your desktop.”

Although Skype has now removed Skype Lite and Skype for Windows Phones downloads from its site, if you already downloaded Skype onto your Windows Mobile phone, the application can still be used indefinitely.

Microsoft has warned users about the fake antivirus program know as Security Essentials 2010 which is quite similar to Microsoft’s security protection software. The programs contains a trojan Win32/Fakeinit.

According to David Wood at Microsoft’s Security:

Well, it had to happen eventually. One of the oldest tricks used by rogue antivirus products is to use a similar name as, or have a similar look and feel to, legitimate security software. It’s been commonplace for them to mimic the Windows Security Center. So it was inevitable that the day would arrive when a rogue would masquerade as something similar to Microsoft Security Essentials. If anything, it surprises me a little that it’s taken so long.

The Finnish phone maker Nokia has announced that they are coming out with a gold edition of their Nokia N97 smartphone.The N97 mini Gold Edition is dressed in 18-carat gold and comes with apps like “ELLE 360Fashion”, which should help fashion lovers follow the latest trends and news.

Other than that, the Nokia N97 mini Gold Edition has the same features the regular edition includes: 3.2 inch touchscreen display with 360 x 640 pixels, full QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, HSPA, GPS, Nokia Maps, 3.5mm headset jack, 8GB of internal memory, and a 5MP camera with autofocus and LED flash.

March 13 is the day when YouTube will stop working for people still living in the stone age and running IE6. The announcement comes at a time when a significant amount of companies with a Web presence are desperate to see IE6 disappear forever.

As you can see in the screenshot above, YouTube will have an interstitial appear when users on older browser try to watch a video on YouTube. Google says the interstitial will show up indefinitely every two weeks until the user upgrades to the most recent version of their browser. Google deems anything below IE7, Firefox 3.0, Chrome 4.0, and Safari 3.0 as an “older browser.” Users on these browsers will still be able to watch YouTube videos, but additional features that Google plans to roll out may not be supported in these older browsers.
